Bru Na Boinne wool/silk herringbone winter coat, size 1 (fits M/L)

$124.99

For sale here is a coat from the Bru Na Boinne label operating out of Japan. Bru Na Boinne is another one of those smaller Japanese labels with limited international distribution. They specialize in high quality, vintage inspired design, differentiating themselves with a relaxed aesthetic and often incorporating a healthy dose of indigo.

What we have here is a top quality coat, both in terms of materials and design. It is an overcoat silhouette, where the main body of the exterior comes in a 56% wool, 44% silk woven herringbone pattern. Aside from being a very expensive luxury fabric, silk is also excellent at heat retention (as is wool). The coat is also insulated in polyester, making this an excellent winter weight shell. It is nicely insulating, yet at the same time not especially heavy which is nice. The coat does not use the more traditional lapels, opting instead to allow you to fully button it up, with a nice angora/wool accent around the neck.

Interior is equally excellent. The body is fully lined in an artist graphic print. The artist is unlabeled unfortunately but the print is very cool. Sleeves and interior pockets are also done in a nicely contrasting purple.

This is a seriously great piece, easily rivaling any of the top labels going with its highly creative, functional design combined with top quality execution. Bru Na Boinne is one of those labels that tends to fly under the radar, especially outside of Japan, but have a strong cult following. These coats retail at about $900 in Japan but get it here much more reasonably.

Size is labeled a 1 but fits relaxed, more like a medium or a large. I measure the chest at 23” / 60cm, shoulders at 17.5” / 45cm, length at 40” / 102cm and sleeves at 24” / 62cm from the shoulder. The coat comes in lightly used, excellent shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $36.
