Engineered Garments pants for sale here. Engineered Garments, designed by Daiki Suzuki and under the umbrella of Japanese company Nepenthes, manufactures their products exclusively in the United States, and almost entirely in New York City. Part of their design ethos is utilize some of the high quality materials and services available in the city and keep their factories going. EG started before the current minor resurgence of American-made products and really continues to push things forward. One of their other main ideals is to update classic workwear pieces with a more modern approach. That’s often manifested in high quality materials, and sometimes more fashion-forward designs as well.
In this case we have a pair of pants in a straight silhouette in a medium weight green cotton twill. Silhouette seems to reference vintage military wear, although Engineered Garments are very much one of those brands that puts their own unique spin on things. The main fabric is pretty rugged and should work well for most seasons.
Details include a branded waistband button, zip fly, cotton canvas lining the waistband, cotton canvas pocket reinforcements on the interior, size adjusting buttons on the waistband, and large EG tags on the pocket. In all, this is a timeless design, one that will work with pretty much everything, that can be worn year-round, and has just enough of a twist to keep it interesting. These pants retailed at about $300, but get them here much more reasonably.
Size is labeled a 32 and has some flexibility with the waistband buttons. Unbuttoned (as pictured) I measure the waist at 34” / 86cm, which can be cinched for a slimmer fit on the waist, inseam at 28” / 71cm, rise at 11” / 28cm and opening at the bottom of the leg at 8” / 20cm. This is a straight leg fit, right in the middle being neither too slim nor too loose. The pants come in lightly used, very good shape. There is a bit of fading toward the knees, otherwise no holes, tears or stains. Made in USA.
