Engineered Garments shirt for sale here. Engineered Garments, designed by Daiki Suzuki and under the umbrella of Japanese company Nepenthes, manufactures their products exclusively in the United States, and almost entirely in New York City. Their idea is to take mainly military and work wear styles and infuse a sort of hybrid American-Japanese sensibility. Their designs are both timeless and highly functional.
In this case we have EG’s take on the classic henly shirt. It is one of those EG designs that is seemingly straightforward but actually has a fair amount going on and is highly considered. Fabric is 100% cotton in a light weight gauze. This is an ideal warm weather piece, in a red colorway. The twist comes in the construction, where the fabric is intentionally bunched toward the middle button placket and has a gentle curve outward from the center. The tailoring is really the strong point here, very well considered and probably at an even higher standard than what Engineered Garments is known for. It is finished off with a flat hem, split in the sides and a chest pocket.
As always with EG these pieces were produced in limited quantities and are now long gone. This is one of those designs that can work across a large range of styles yet at the same time keeps the proceedings pretty interesting. Get it here at a fraction of the retail price as well.
Size is labeled a small and fits relaxed, more like a standard medium. I measure the chest at 20.5” / 52cm, shoulders at 17.5” / 44cm, and length at 27” / 68cm. The shirt comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in the USA.
