Engineered Garments jacket for sale here. Engineered Garments, designed by Daiki Suzuki and under the umbrella of Japanese company Nepenthes, manufactures their products exclusively in the United States, and almost entirely in New York City. Part of their design ethos is utilize some of the high quality materials and services available in the city and to keep their factories going. EG started before the current minor resurgence of American-made products and really continues to push things forward. One of their other main ideals is to update classic workwear pieces with a more modern approach. That’s often manifested in high quality materials, and sometimes more fashion-forward designs as well.

In this case we have a bomber jacket silhouette done in a military green cotton exterior with a quilted pattern. The jacket is fully insulated in polyester, with the interior lining done in a green 65% polyester / 35% cotton fabric, while the sleeve interiors have a sort of psychedelic print added for good measure. As is often the case with Engineered Garments there are all kinds of details incorporated. Front features a large double zip closure with side pockets and a shawl collar. Cuffs are ribbed like the neck. Interior has two additional pockets with snap button closure, while the rear has side adjusters. Rather than the typical ribbed waistband a bomber jacket usually has, they have opted here for a somewhat longer length and a flat hem. Rear elbows are also reinforced.

In all this is a thoughtfully designed jacket, highly functional and one that can work across a wide variety of situations. Given the insulation it is a pretty warm jacket, not quite a heavy down jacket, but one that should cover you very well through most of what nature gives you.

Size is labeled a medium and fits true. I measure the chest at 21.5” / 54cm, shoulders at 18” / 45cm, length at 27.5” / 70cm from the base of the neck, and sleeves at 25.5” / 64cm from the shoulder. The jacket comes in used but good shape. There is a bit of general wear, but really not much, and no holes, tears or stains. Made in USA.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $32.
