FOB Factory is a smaller-scale manufacturer based in the Kojima area of Okayama Prefecture in Japan. Okayama is well regarded as the center of Japan’s jeans production, mainly due to its concentration of factories with vintage machinery. There are a fair number of Americana-inspired labels based in Kojima city including Kapital, Spellbound, Eternal, TCB Jeans, Strike Gold, and FOB Factory as well.
Like many of the other Kojima labels, FOB Factory specializes in clothing inspired by vintage Americana, utilizing old-school production techniques such as shuttle looms and chain stitching among others, taking advance of the expertise concentrated in Kojima. FOB Factory has a smaller stature compared to some of the other labels in the city, but quality is excellent and designs are always timeless and well thought out. No stitch is out of place.
These pants are FOB Factory’s take on the classic cotton chinos. Fabric is 100% cotton, coming in a solid green. Fabric is a bit heavier than your standard chino, making this a good spring-summer-fall pair of pants. Details are fairly minimal but well considered, including a zip fly, waistband button, and waistband lined on the interior in a cotton canvas. Pockets are likewise done in a heavy cotton canvas that is sure to withstand quite a bit of wear. These are the kinds of pants that will go with pretty much everything with a straight leg fit that is neither too loose nor too baggy.
FOB Factory is one of those labels that can be difficult to track down even in Japan. They have very limited distribution abroad and are only stocked by a handful of specialist shops. This model is also now completely sold out, but get it here at the cheapest price around.
