Freemans Sporting Club x Loopwheeler cotton sweater, Japan-made, size M

$39.99

For sale here is a sweater from Freemans Sporting Club, done in collaboration with the Japanese Loopwheeler label. Freemans Sporting Club seems to be getting more exposure these days, being pretty firmly rooted in American and Japanese produced casual wear. Their designs go for the classics: indigo and tweed jackets, selvedge denim, gauze shirts, chinos and the like. Loopwheeler, for their part, specialize in manufacturing loopwheeled knit cotton pieces, mainly shirts and sweaters. Loopwheeling is an old fashioned construction technique, where fabrics are spun in a tubular knit. It is a slower process than modern construction, but the fabrics are also more textured and with greater character.

What we have here is a loopwheeled sweater in navy blue (although this model does have side seams). Design is pretty straightforward, pretty characteristic of Loopwheeler. You’ve got the classic hood, a chunky metal zip down the front and two side pockets. Left sleeve has a custom Loopwheeler tag, something they always incorporate on their knitwear, but usually in a different color for their own pieces.

This is a classic design in every sense. The hooded sweater is a ubiquitous piece, done here at an elevated level of quality. Tailoring is spot-on, where this is just the right amount of slim fitting- flattering but not too tight. Also easily layered according to your preference. Neck tag is the standard Freemans Sporting Club label, while the interior is a Loopwheeler label. In all, this looks to be primarily a Loopwheeler production, done custom to and to the specifications of Freemans Sporting Club. This collaborative run was produced in very limited quantities and is now sold out.

Size is labeled a medium and fits true. I measure the chest at 21.5” / 55cm, shoulders at 18” / 46cm, length at 26” / 66cm from the base of the neck, and sleeves at 24” / 61cm from the shoulder. The shirt comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $26.
