Up for sale here is an indigo dyed shirt from the Graph Zero label. Graph Zero is another one of those strongly vintage inspired Japanese labels located in the Kojima area of central Japan, home to Japan’s denim industry. Graph Zero are somewhat unique in that they have their own factory, and as such are able to gather quite a bit of expertise and keep things pretty vertically integrated. They have been going since 2004 and are still on the smaller side of things, where they only seem to have distribution to a handful of shops in Asia outside of Japan.
With all that said, Graph Zero still produce some really interesting and cool pieces. This is a pretty interesting take on the classic striped shirt. Fabric is 100% cotton, indigo dyed in alternating light and dark blue stripes. Like any quality indigo piece, the blues here will gradually develop and fade with wear, creating something unique in the process. Design is also pretty unusual in this case, with a small buttoned chest pocket and a large side buttoned pocket at the bottom. Also includes side gussets, chain stitch construction throughout, and chainstitch runoff on the sides.
In sum you have a very interesting piece here, indigo dyed and very well built. You definitely will not find anything quite like this elsewhere. Get it here at a fraction of the retail price.
Size is labeled a medium and fits true if a bit slim. I measure the chest at 19.5” / 50cm, shoulders at 17” / 43cm and length at 25” / 64cm in front and 26” / 66cm in back. The shirt comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears, stains or visible fading of the indigo. Made in Japan.
Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $24.
