Up for sale here is a shirt from John Undercover, this one from the fall-winter 2014 collection. John Undercover was a sub-line of Jun Takahashi’s Undercover label, running from 2013 through approximately 2019 and only available in Japan. JUC, along with the ladies’ Sue Undercover label, were sort of between the main line collection and their “basics” line. Designs were certainly not basic and quality was in no way sacrificed, although some of the detailing may not be quite as crazy as the UC main line. JUC tended to emphasize a patchwork-style approach, often layering fabrics with contrasting colors together.
Here we have a somewhat straightforward t-shirt design. The main body is a sort of olive/khaki cotton, while the front has a white silk screened line and another lighter shaded fabric at the bottom. It is a subtle sort of patchwork, executed at a very high level of quality as you might expect from Undercover. Undercover tailoring is always very strong and highly underrated, this shirt being no exception.
Size is labeled a 2 and fits like a standard medium in my opinion. I measure the chest at 20” / 52cm, shoulders at 18.5” / 47cm, and length at 26.5” / 66cm. The shirt comes in lightly used, generally good shape. There is a small hole on the bottom-left side (pictured) which very likely came from a tag, but otherwise no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.
Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $24.
