Up for sale here is a shirt from the Nanamica label, a somewhat smaller Japanese outdoor-themed clothing label that has long roots in the Japanese fashion industry. These guys are also responsible for the North Face Purple Label, distributing the Helly Hansen line in Japan, and collaborate often with a number of sportswear lines. Nanamica is an interesting label in itself, where it often uses performance and technical fabrics but in more casual designs. What you end up with is a classic aesthetic with a considerable level of functionality.
With this shirt you have those same design ethos in practice. Silhouette is based on the classic long sleeved thermal shirt. Thermals are normally done in cotton, intended to act as a base layer for heat retention. The waffle knit that characterizes thermal shirts makes for a thick fabric that naturally traps body heat. Nanamica’s version here changes things up slightly using an 85% cotton, 15% polyester mix. The addition of the polyester makes this version a bit better at heat retention and also a bit more resilient. The fit has also been lengthened, where Nanamica’s version is longer than your typical thermal, especially in the back, which makes for a nice accent should you choose to wear it untucked (and provides additional warmth if you keep it tucked in).
Size is labeled a medium and fits true. I measure the chest at 20”, shoulders at 20”, length at 28” in front and 32” in back, and sleeves at 24.5” from the shoulder. The shirt comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.
Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $24.
