Stevenson Overall jeans HW1-IN indigo dyed fisherman sweater, size M (fits M/L)

$49.99 Sold out

Up for sale here is an indigo dyed sweater from Stevenson Overall Co., another one of those Japanese “American causal” labels. The label makes a number of nods to old-time clothes, taking elements from early functional clothing (including workwear, military and outdoor clothing) and mixing them with their own unique take. It’s a similar approach to what Mister Freedom does, although for Stevenson Overall it strikes me as more workwear-oriented, rather than the often more military-inspired flavor Mister Freedom has.

This is a somewhat low gauge cable knit sweater that has been indigo dyed. The main material is an indigo dyed cotton yarn. It looks to me that this was dyed in the yarn phase, rather than as a finished garment, which creates a bit more depth and unevenness in the color. As with any good indigo piece, this should also pleasantly fade with continued wear, creating something totally unique to the wearer.
Another interesting detail is the knit itself. This is a fisherman style knit and reasonably intricate. You don’t usually see this kind of design incorporated into a hooded sweat shirt, but there you go. As you might expect, these sweaters were produced in very limited quantities and are now completely sold out.

Size is labeled a medium and fits relaxed. I measure the chest at 23” / 59cm, shoulders at 19” / 48cm, length at 27” / 69cm and sleeves at 28” / 71cm (they can be rolled up if you like). The sweater comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains, and minimal fading of the indigo. Made in Japan.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $26.
