Wtaps neighborhood printed “way of life” solid black shirt, size 2 (M)

$34.99

For sale here is a graphic t-shirt from Wtaps. Wtaps is pretty interesting in the Japanese fashion world, as they straddle a number of different points. They specialize in a lot of re-purposed military wear, for example, but at the same time appeal to the “street fashion” aesthetic that made a lot of Japanese labels famous in the 1990s and early 2000s. They’ve put out preppy American-inspired collections, biker-inspired wear, traditional British clothing, and any number of other subgroups have also been given attention. They also have their own unique design sensibility that makes all of these elements work. Wtaps has consequently garnered a large cult following in Japan (and abroad) arguably eclipsing their parent label Neighborhood.

In this case we have a long sleeved shirt in a solid black, with Wtaps’ design sensibility at the forefront. Front of the shirt has a small printed logo, while the sleeves say “way of life” phonetically in Japanese. Other subtle details include logo printed on the neck, red label tab on the bottom left side and some black-on-black embroidery on the left sleeve. Retail on these shirts was around $125 outside of Japan if you could find them, but they went real quick. Wtaps always produces in very limited quantities, with even more limited distribution outside of Japan. Once things are gone they are typically not coming back. Get it here while you can at a fraction of the retail.

Size is labeled a 2/medium and fits true. I measure the chest at 20”, shoulders at 18”, length at 25” and sleeves at 24” from the shoulder. The shirt comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $24.
