Up for sale here is a pair of pants by 45 rpm in their signature indigo dyed denim fabric. 45rpm is best known for their indigo dyed products, of which their jeans definitely take center stage. If you are into denim, 45 rpm is definitely well worth your time. They’re a part of the Japanese school of denim enthusiasts, making their mark in applying super high quality fabrics and attention to detail to vintage-inspired designs.
These are 45rpm’s lightweight summer cut, I would guess around an 8oz fabric or so. Material a 75% cotton / 25% linen blend in their characteristic uneven knit, likely done on an old-school shuttle loom. With wear the pants will gradually fade, developing patina totally unique to the wearer. That’s part of the fun with these kinds of pieces. 45 rpm also differentiates itself with the detailing. All kinds of details are added here, including contrasting red and white stitching throughout, a zip fly, custom buttons on the waistband and rear pockets, coin pocket and an embroidered “R” logo in red on the front and in blue near the rear right pocket.
Current iterations of these pants run about $500 outside of Japan if you can find them. This places 45 rpm in the upper tier of Japanese denim manufacturers, but you often get what you pay for. Get it here much more reasonably as well.
Size is labeled a 34. However, I measure the waist at 33” / 86cm. Inseam is 32” / 82cm, rise is 11.5” / 29cm and leg opening is 8.25” / 21cm. Fit is classic: not too baggy or too tight. These will go with pretty much everything and keep you cool throughout the summer. The pants come in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.
Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
