Sunny Sports indigo selvedge jeans, made in Japan, fits 32”

$34.99

Up for sale here is a pair of pants from the Sunny Sports label. Sunny Sports is another one of those Japanese labels strongly influenced by vintage Americana and work wear. They run a pretty wide gamut of clothing, where they do their own iterations of military, work and sportswear, but like many they filter classic design through their own aesthetic. Quality and detailing is pretty respectful of the originals, while the silhouettes are often slimmed down for a more modern look.

In this case we have Sunny Sports’ take on the classic denim jeans. It is a pretty straight cut, just a hair slim in my opinion. Fabric is 100% cotton in a standard year-round weight, my guess would be about 10 to 12 oz. Material has also been given a vintage finish, making it look nicely worn in. Silhouette follows the classic five pocket design with a straight leg. Details include a button fly with branded buttons, selvedge line on the leg interior, yellow stitching reinforcements on the pockets, and custom paper tag on the rear waistband.

Sunny Sports has extremely limited international distribution at the moment, where they are currently stocked by only three shops outside of Japan (two in California and one in New York as far as I can tell). It’s a bit surprising in that they are actually one of the bigger “American casual” labels in Japan at the moment. Either way, you can be sure that these pants were produced in very limited quantities and were pretty much impossible to find outside of Japan.

Size is labeled a 34 but work much better for a 32 inch waist. I measure the waist at 32” / 83cm, inseam at 27” / 70cm, rise at 10.5” / 26cm and leg opening at 7” / 16cm. The pants come in used, generally good shape. They were already vintage processed and have had some additional wear and fading, but plenty of life left. No holes, tears or stains either. Made in Japan.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
