Agnes B Homme cotton blend blazer, made in France, size 50 (M)

$39.99 Sold out

Up for sale here is an excellent piece from the Agnes B label. Long well-regarded in both France and Japan, Agnes B has held a cult following most other places I believe. She’s been at it since the mid 1970s, infusing a very French look into her designs. She produces with a very consistent aesthetic, using high quality materials and attention to detail like the best designers. She’s definitely well worth looking checking out in more detail if you’re not super familiar with her.

This is one of Agnes B’s many iterations of the classic blazer. It’s done here with a three button closure and a really nice dark blue fabric. Agnes B used to do their production almost entirely in France, sadly an increasingly rare thing these days. This is one of those higher quality made in France models. Exterior is a 70% cotton, 28% nylon, lycra fabric, while the interior is fully lined in a 96% viscose, 4% elastane blend. The nylon gives the exterior a bit more resiliency than your standard cotton, while there is a bit of stretch provided on the interior and exterior fabrics. Given the full lining, I would consider this a good year-round piece. It is maybe not great in the middle of summer but should otherwise cover you well on its own or layered under a coat in the winter.

The overall fit aims for a classic look, not super slim or incredibly baggy, but aiming for that sweet spot in the middle where you can match it with pretty much anything. Design here seems to evoke classic 1960s French fashion, nothing too avant garde but very well made and classic.

Size is labeled a 50 and fits like a standard medium. I measure the chest at 20” / 51cm, shoulders at 18” / 46cm, length at 30.5” / 77cm from the base of the neck, and sleeves at 26” / 66cm from the shoulder. The jacket comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in France.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
