Vetra French-made cotton shop coat, size 34 (M)

$39.99 Sold out

Up for sale here is a jacket from French workwear label Vetra. There are a number of similar French heritage labels offering no-fuss, well made and timeless pieces (which are often still somehow made in France). These include labels like Danton, Laboureur and Orcival. Vetra definitely fits in the same mold, where they’ve been producing quality work wear in France for quite a while now.

Silhouette here is based on the classic shop coat, done in a fairly light weight cotton. This is a very good piece to wear as an overcoat in the spring and summer. Details are straightforward but at the same time nicely sophisticated. In this case the coat has a dropped shoulder, relaxed silhouette. It is also nicely worn in with some visible fading of the material throughout. If anything I think the fading adds considerable character to the coat. It’s a no-fuss, classic design. The sort of thing the French are best at: classy, highly functional, timeless, and effortlessly cool. This will go with pretty much everything, keep you comfortable, and will work really well as a layering piece.

Size is labeled a 34 and fits a relaxed medium well. I measure the chest at 22” / 56cm, shoulders at 24” / 60cm, length at 31” / 79cm and sleeves at 19” / 48cm from the shoulder (note the dropped shoulder add a good 4 inches to the sleeve length). The jacket comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains, just fading as noted. Made in France.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
