Aspesi garment dyed khaki pants, made in Italy, size 50 (fits 34)

$39.99

Up for sale here is a pair of pants from the Aspesi label. Aspesi has a pretty long history in Italy, where they have been active since the 1960s. They are one of those labels that has made a name for themselves in creating unique and innovative fabrics, and were actually the brand responsible for making the down jacket more of an urban piece rather than something used for outdoor wear. They tend not to get a lot of attention outside of Europe and Japan, but again are one of those labels worth looking into.

These pants come in a garment dyed cotton, fairly light in weight. Garment dying is when the constructed garment is dyed, rather than having the fabric dyed before construction. It is a more time-consuming process but you get a much stronger depth of color – the shading is much less uniform – making for a more interesting piece of clothing. Garment dying is a technique made famous by Stone Island and CP Company, two contemporaries of Aspesi, and used here to a very nice effect.

A number of other interesting details are incorporated with these pants. This is a straight leg fit with a bit of a taper toward the ankles. Ankles also have some elastic. Waistband has a red drawstring with some nicely contrasting red and white striped pockets. In addition to the side pockets there is an additional zipped pocket on the leg. Design is such that if you were to put a CP Company or Stone Island logo on them you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.

Size is labeled a 50 and fits a 34 well. I measure the waist at 34” / 44cm, inseam at 29.5” / 75cm, rise at 11” / 28cm and leg opening at 6.75” / 17cm. The pants come in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in Italy.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
