Up for sale here is a pair of cargo pants from Stone Island. These particular pants come from the spring-summer 2012 season, as you can see from the art number on the tag. Not that it matters too much, as these are some pretty classic SI pants, some with simple yet effective detailing. Stone Island is really a leader in technical apparel, pushing the boundaries of what is possible both in dyeing technology and in the types of textiles that can be incorporated into clothing.
These pants are just a bit slim, coming in a 100% cotton fabric, fairly light in weight. Details are kept pretty classic and minimal for the most part, putting the emphasis on the material. Fabric comes in Stone Island’s signature garment dye, where finished pieces are dyed rather than having the material dyed before construction. It produces a depth of color and variation that is otherwise unavailable (although it is most time consuming and expensive to produce).
Details include a zip fly, branded waistband buttons, logo tag on the interior waistband, logo tag on the rear right pocket, and a variety of interior tags. Waistband is also reinforced, giving the pants more structure than you typically find elsewhere. Stone Island is one of those labels that has a very strong following of collectors, and their retail prices these days are into the stratosphere. Size is labeled a 34 and fits true. I measure the waist at 34” / 86cm, inseam at 30.5” / 80cm, rise at 10” / 27cm and leg opening at 7” / 19cm. The pants come in used but generally good shape. There is some general wear but no holes, tears or stains. Made in Romania.
