$199.99

Aura Lee is a somewhat newer Japanese label that seems to have captured the vanguard of fashion these days, along with a handful of other newer Japanese labels like A. Presse. With Aura Lee they aim for highly comfortable design in very unique textiles. Designs are usually kept somewhat muted and deceptively simple, where the materials and details are intended to stand out.

This is a light weight coat from Aura Lee’s spring-summer 2017 collection, called the “finx chambray soutien big collar coat”. The Finx in the name refers to Finx cotton, a rare, extra long-staple Egyptian cotton, considered one of the top quality cottons available. This coat uses a 65% Finx cotton along with a 35% silk blend, making for a piece that is very light in weight, with a luxurious feel to it. You would really be hard pressed finding a better quality fabric. Silhouette is relaxed with a full length. It has additionally been treated with some kind of water repellency, making this a very good coat to wear in the rain in the spring and fall. The relaxed fit also makes layering very easy and comfortable.

Details include some really unique metal snap buttons used throughout. Cuffs are elasticated to ensure a good fit, while the bottom of the coat has a rope allowing you to adjust the fit to your preference. Two large side pockets are also incorporated, which is pretty much all you need. Aura Lee outerwear pieces are going in the neighborhood of $1000 outside of Japan these days, and this particular model is no longer in production. Get it here at the cheapest price around.

Size is labeled a 3 and fits a medium or a large with a relaxed silhouette as noted.
