For sale here is a sweater from the Bru Na Boinne label operating out of Japan. Bru Na Boinne is another one of those smaller Japanese labels with limited international distribution. They specialize in high quality, vintage inspired design, differentiating themselves with a relaxed aesthetic and often incorporating a healthy dose of indigo.
This is a snap button cardigan coming in a highly textured cotton fabric. As you can see in the pics, there is quite a bit of depth to the material, the sort of thing you see coming from low tension shuttle looms. Modern looms are simply incapable of making this kind of material and that really sets labels like Bru Na Boinne apart. Silhouette is somewhat longer than a more standard cardigan, with long sleeves that can be worn bunched up or rolled to your preference.
Although they are especially hard to get outside of Japan, Bru Na Boinne is one of those labels well worth tracking down. They consistently produce at a very high level of quality, often with creative and interesting designs. Retail on these sweaters is about $200 in Japan but get it here much more reasonably.
Size is labeled a medium and fits true. I measure the chest at 21” / 53cm, shoulders at 19” / 48cm, length at 28” / 71cm and sleeves at 26” / 67cm. The sweater comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.
