For sale here is a pair of pants from the Comme des Garcons Homme collection. CDG is perhaps best known for their avant-garde aesthetic, always applying new and creative pieces and techniques to fashion. They’ve got quite the history, really opening the door for most Japanese labels (along with Yohji Yamamoto and Issey Miyake of course, but perhaps to a lesser extent).
These pants come from the Homme collection, overseen by Junya Watanabe. For the Homme label, the emphasis is usually on simplicity, making relatively straightforward garments, always in a high quality execution, and usually with some kind of twist. In this case the fabric is a 100% wool knit, lined in cupro and ideal for the colder weather. Silhouette is pretty classic with a straight leg fit that is maybe just a hair on the slim side.
As always with CDG, these pieces were produced in limited quantities, and could be pretty hard to track down outside of Japan. These pants retailed around $300 Japan and were around $500 abroad if you could find them. They are of course available here much more reasonably.
Size is labeled a medium and meant to fit true. I measure the waist at 33” / 84cm, inseam at 30” / 78cm, rise at 11” / 28cm and opening at the bottom of the leg at 7” / 18cm. The pants come in lightly used, good shape. There is some minor wear to the fabric but no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.
