Junya Watanabe Man comme des garcons 2015 khaki pants, size M (fits 33”)

$49.99

For sale here is a pair of pants from Junya Watanabe, a part of the Comme Des Garcons family of labels. CDG is well regarded as being the foundation of Japanese avant-garde fashion and still remains at the forefront. Junya Watanabe has been very influential in this world, often producing high quality designs inspired by classic work and military wear but at the same time often something pretty different as well.

These pants come from the spring-summer 2015 collection and are a typically unique take on classic khaki chinos. In this case we have a fairly traditional five pocket setup, although the silhouette has been tweaked. This is a highwater design with a somewhat longer inseam, where the legs open up toward the knee and then taper down toward the ankle. It is one of those fits that is a bit unusual but makes for a nice little detail if you’re paying attention.

Other details include a vegetable ivory waistband button, workwear style partially lined rear pockets, and a nice plaid fabric used for the pockets. Nobody else does it quite like Junya. The Junya Watanabe line, like pretty much all of the Comme Des Garcons universe, never comes cheap. These pants retailed in the $500 range outside of Japan and are now long gone.

Size is labeled a medium and fits a 33” waist. I measure the waist at 33”, inseam at 24” (the longer rise adds a good two inches to the inseam), rise at 12” and leg opening at 7.5”. The pants come in used condition, with a small stain visible on the left leg (pictured). Otherwise no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
