For sale here is a cotton shirt-jacket from the Frank Leder label. Frank Leder is one of the more interesting labels going these days, in that many of their textiles are vintage, most of their fabrics are heritage German or Austrian (and sometimes Belgian) textiles, and all of their production is exclusively in Germany. As a result, they have a pretty strong traditional German influence, mixed with a more modern sensibility and silhouettes.
Here we have a shirt-jacket hybrid – it can be worn as a shirt or a jacket according to your preference. It is done in a vintage heavy cotton twill fabric. Each section of the shirt is done in slightly different shades of the same color. Pockets are the same color, while the sleeves, for example, are different shades of blue. Buttons are fabric covered and also vintage. Interior has a chest pocket as well, which is visible from the exterior.
Because they typically use vintage fabrics, Frank Leder produces in very limited quantities. They have two dedicated shops, one in Germany and one in Austria, and are stocked pretty well in Japan. They are very much one of those labels worth checking out in more detail if at all possible. Retail on these pieces was about $600, but get it here at the cheapest price around.
Size is labeled an extra small and fits pretty relaxed, more like a standard medium in my opinion. I measure the chest at 20” / 52cm, shoulders at 17” / 43cm, length at 27” / 68cm from the base of the neck and sleeves at 25” / 64cm from the shoulder. The shirt comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in Germany.
Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $26.
