For sale here is a button down shirt from Freemans Sporting Club. The Freemans Sporting Club label seems to be getting more exposure these days, being pretty firmly rooted in American and Japanese produced casual wear. Their designs go for the classics: indigo and tweed jackets, selvedge denim, gauze shirts, chinos and the like.
This shirt is an interesting one, going for the classic solid white button down, but at the same time incorporating a lot of interesting workwear detailing beyond what a lot of other labels do. One of the most interesting aspects to me is that pretty much every seam is chain stitched. You don’t usually see this kind of chunky stitching applied to shirts, and when you do it is usually done much more sparingly. You’ve got a double needle run used throughout basically, and of course the chain stitch runoff on the sides along with side gussets.
Tailoring is spot-on, where this is just the right amount of slim fitting- flattering but not too tight. Looks good tucked or untucked, classic in design and sure to last for years. According to the tag, this shirt comes from 2014, most likely the spring-summer collection. Retail was around $220, although this model is not currently in production.
Size is labeled a medium, fit is a bit slim as noted. I measure the chest at 20” / 52cm, shoulders at 17” / 43cm, length at 27.5” / 70cm from the base of the neck, and sleeves at 24” / 61cm from the shoulder. The shirt comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears, stains or obvious signs of wear. Made in Japan.
Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $24.
