Up for sale here is a jacket from Neighborhood, one of the longer-running Japanese streetwear labels. Neighborhood is the parent label of the somewhat more cultish Wtaps, although both hold very high standards for quality and production. To me, neighborhood tends to gravitate more toward vintage workwear and biker gear for inspiration, where Wtaps is often more military or even ivy league sometimes.
What we have here is Neighborhood’s take on the work jacket. Vintage Americana is pretty much where Neighborhood looks for most of their inspiration, although they often put their own particular take on the classics. Silhouette is based on the classic blazer but given more of a workwear look. Material is a 60% cotton, 40% polyester blend, coming in a pretty light weight and ideal for the warmer weather.
Details include two side pockets, one check pocket and an array of tags on the interior and exterior. Front has two button closure and buttons fairly high. Sleeves are just a bit cropped and length is a hair shorter than a more standard blazer with a flat hem and a somewhat relaxed fit in the body. As always with Neighborhood fit, materials and detailing are given the utmost care. These are always produced in limited quantities and don’t come cheap at retail. These jackets currently go for around $600 outside of Japan. Get it here for much less.
Size is labeled a medium and as noted fits a bit loose in the body. I measure the chest at 21” / 54cm, shoulders at 18” / 46cm, length at 26” / 67cm and sleeves at 23” / 58cm from the shoulders. The jacket comes in used, generally good condition. There is some minor wear, including a small discoloration on the chest (pictured). Otherwise no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.
Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
