For sale here is a pair of pants from the Nestrobe Confect label. Nestrobe Confect is a Japanese label founded in 2005, a bit unique in Japanese fashion in the sense that they are a vertically-integrated brand. The brand has its origins in a sewing factory called “Next”, founded back in 1950. According to the brand, with the push toward outsourcing in the early 2000’s they decided to directly operate their own brand and shops in an effort to bring high quality clothing directly to customers.

Nestrobe Confect has a pretty minimalist aesthetic, somewhere between heritage and more fashion forward brands that emphasize quality textiles, such as Aura Lee or the Aton label. With Nestrobe the textiles are all custom and they specialize in textured cottons and linens, as well as garment dyes and unique textures.

These pants come in a 100% cotton, garment dyed khaki color. Material is pretty light in weight and ideal for the warmer weather. Garment dying gives the material a pleasantly uneven shade throughout with a lot more depth of color than you would find with a standard dye. This is a straight leg fit, neither too slim nor too baggy but nicely towing the line between the two. Details include high quality vegetable ivory / corozo nut buttons used throughout, extra stitching around the front pockets, and 60% cupro / 40% cotton pockets on the interior, done in a herringbone twill and also garment dyed along with the exterior fabric.

Nestrobe Confect is one of those labels that has enjoyed cult status in Japan for a while but has no international distribution to speak of. They are well worth checking out in more detail. These pants retail in the 33,000 yen range in Japan (and would go for substantially more abroad if you could find them) but get them here at a substantial bargain.

Size is labeled a 4, fitting a 32 inch waist well. I measure the waist at 32” / 82cm, inseam at 28” / 71cm, rise at 10.5” / 27cm and leg opening at 7.5” / 19cm. The pants come in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.
