Up for sale here is a jacket from French workwear label Vetra. This jacket is done in collaboration with the United Arrows select shop in Japan, where this model was only available in their shops. There are a number of similar French heritage labels offering no-fuss, well made and timeless pieces (which are often still somehow made in France). These include labels like Danton, Laboureur and Orcival. Vetra definitely fits in the same mold, where they’ve been producing quality work wear in France for quite a while now.
Silhouette is based on the classic overcoat, done in a medium weight cotton moleskin. Moleskin is a densely woven cotton, naturally wind and water resistant, and a staple of French workwear. Weight here is definitely heavier than a standard cotton, insulating but at the same time not super heavy duty. As such, I believe this is a good fall/spring piece, coming in at just the right weight not to over-heat you, but at the same time still nicely resilient.
Silhouette stays pretty faithful to the over coat, with a high buttoning closure, and two vertical side pockets. This is a no-fuss, classic design. The sort of thing the French are best at: classy, highly functional, timeless, and effortlessly cool. This will go with pretty much everything, keep you comfortable, and will work really well as a fall layering piece.
Size is labeled a 42 and fits a large well. I measure the chest at 22” / 56cm, shoulders at 18” / 48, length at 31” / 79cm and sleeves at 25” / 63cm from the shoulder. The jacket comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains, just some fading on the neck tag. Made in France.
Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
