Engineered Garments pants for sale here. Engineered Garments, designed by Daiki Suzuki and under the umbrella of Japanese company Nepenthes, manufactures their products exclusively in the United States and almost entirely in New York City. Part of their design ethos is utilize some of the high quality materials and services available in the city and keep their factories going. One of their other main ideals is to update classic workwear pieces with a more modern approach.

This is Engineered Garments’ take on the classic cotton chino, coming in a light weight cotton “dobby” fabric. Dobby fabric is sort of like a half corduroy, where it has similar whales, but they are not as pronounced as a standard corduroy. It gives the fabric a very nice texture, somewhat similar to a seersucker in feel, and allows it to maintain a light weight.

Details include a zip fly, a hidden coin pocket on the waistband, nicely contrasting black cotton on the interior waistband and pockets and a split in the waistband on the rear. The more recent array of Engineered Garments tags are on the interior, noting this as a newer release. This is a straight leg fit, not as relaxed as a lot of recent EG.

Size is labeled a medium and fits a 33” waist well. I measure the waist at 33” / 86cm, inseam at 29” / 73cm, rise at 11.5” / 29cm and leg opening at 7.5” / 19cm. The pants come in used, generally good shape. There is some wear and a bit of fading throughout, but no holes, tears or stains Made in the USA.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
