For sale here is a shirt from Private White VC, one of the newer British heritage-style brands. Private White has a pretty good provenance, where they are produced exclusively in Manchester, UK by a long-running factory that’s produced for a number of other British labels. Private White look to vintage military, work and sportswear for inspiration, especially the British stuff, but at the same time add their own take as well.
Silhouette here is in the classic shirt vein. Fabric is 100% cotton, done in a fairly light weight. Color is a light blue with corozo nut buttons used throughout. Tailoring is pretty sharp with a number of interesting little details incorporated. For one, the rear shoulder line has a sort of triangle detail incorporated in the middle. This is a practical detail, reinforcing the stress point at the center back. Also features an open collar detail and flat hem, intended to be worn untucked.
These kinds of traditionally-minded UK pieces are not about blowing you away with loud prints or crazy design. They’re much more about keeping a nice, trim fit that’s well tailored using quality materials. Design is pretty timeless here, and you’ve got a well-rounded piece that age very well and serve you year-round. Private White does not come cheap at retail (this piece cost about $250 in the UK), and can be pretty hard to track down outside of England. Get it here in excellent shape at a much more reasonable price.
Size is labeled a 2, equivalent to a small. I measure the chest at 19” / 49cm, shoulders at 17” / 43cm, and length at 26.5” / 67cm. The shirt comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in the UK.
Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $24.
