Up for sale here is a coverall from French workwear label Vetra. There are a number of similar French heritage labels offering no-fuss, well made and timeless pieces (which are often still somehow made in France). These include labels like Danton, Laboureur and Orcival. Vetra definitely fits in the same mold, where they’ve been producing quality work wear in France for quite a while now.
And that’s what we have here too. Silhouette is based on the classic coverall, a French workwear staple, done in a medium weight woolen blend twill. More specifically, the material here is an 80% wool, 20% nylon blend, done in a high gauge weave and unlined. This translates to a coverall on the somewhat heavier end of the spectrum. The wool fabric makes this a good transitional piece, the sort of thing you can layer under with some insulation to cover you for the winter. On its own, the jacket provides a very good shell, where the high gauge weave makes this naturally wind and water resistant, like an outer layer should be.
The fabric is probably the main draw for me, where the pictures don’t really do it justice. Design is very classic, the sort of thing the French are best at: classy, highly functional, timeless, and effortlessly cool. This will go with pretty much everything, keep you comfortable, and will work really well on cooler fall and spring days.
Size is labeled a 38 and fits like a medium. I measure the chest at 21” / 53cm, shoulders at 17” / 43cm, length at 28” / 71cm and sleeves at 22.5” / 57cm from the shoulder. The jacket comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in France.
Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
