Junya Watanabe Comme Des Garcons 2003aw moleskin pants, size S (fits 34)

$54.99 / Sold Out

Up for sale here is a pair of pants from Junya Watanabe, this one coming from the 2003aw collection, a somewhat older piece. However, like a lot of recent Junya the pants draw their inspiration from traditional workwear. The twists aren’t as crazy as some of the Junya pieces out there, but these are as solidly built as anything they’ve produced, coming in a traditional French work wear material.

The pants start with a cotton moleskin fabric. Moleskin is essentially a high gauge woven cotton, where the weave is tighter and consequently the weight is heavier than a more typical cotton. Moleskin is a heritage workwear fabric, hard-wearing and naturally wind and water resistant. It was originally developed by the French, and that’s where the inspiration seems to be coming from here. Color is brown, with a straight leg silhouette. These are actually some really substantially built pants. Fabric is particularly heavy here, and these would make for an ideal winter weight pair of pants.

Size is labeled a small. Junya often cuts pants a bit looser than the tagged size would lead you to believe for some reason. I measure the waist here at 34”, rise at 11”, inseam at 31” and opening at the bottom of the leg at 9”. The pants come in used, generally good shape. There is some general wear, most visible on the rear side of the cuffs, but no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
