Post Overalls engineered garments overdyed cotton sweater, size M (fits L)

$39.99

Available here is a sweater from Post Overalls. Post Overalls is one of the longer-running Japanese-American hybrid brands. That is, Post Overalls has a Japanese designer, Tsuyoshi Obuchi, but are based in the United States and mainly produce their clothing in the US (and also Japan as with this sweater). There are increasingly more such designers, including engineered garments, yuketen, and battenwear, to name a few. Inspiration is firmly in classic Americana and vintage work, sports and military wear, done in their own particular aesthetic.

This is Post Overalls’ take on the classic crewneck sweater. Fit is pretty relaxed in this case, with raglan shoulders and ribbed waistband and cuffs. The main twist comes with the dye, where this is an overdyed piece. That is, the completed garment has been dyed rather than just the fabric. This gives the sweater a unique depth of color, one that is pleasantly uneven throughout. Details are otherwise pretty minimal, although there is an embroidered “P” on the bottom left side. Still, this is a timeless design, one that will allow a large range of movement and will not restrict you. It is one of those pieces that will work with pretty much everything and is just different enough to keep it interesting.

Post Overalls is one of those labels that gives a great amount of consideration to all aspects of their clothing, manufacturing at a very high level of quality and making some vintage inspired yet totally unique designs. This model is now sold out, but get it here at a fraction of the retail price.

Size is labeled a medium but fits relaxed, more like a large or even an XL. I measure the chest at 23”, shoulders at approx. 19” (they are raglan and hard to get exact), length at 28” and sleeves at approx. 24” from the shoulder. The sweater comes in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.

Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $26.
