For sale here is a rare jacket from Visvim. This model is their Deckhand jacket, based on the classic N-1 navy deck jacket. Visvim of course adds their own unique and very high quality detailing to the jacket, making it much more their own and setting it apart from the more straightforward “repro” brands out there. Visvim typically releases this jacket each winter, where they have released a number of iterations of this jacket.
This version of the deckhand is a bit different from the newer models, in that it incorporates a Goretex Windstopper laminate, making this impervious to wind (as the name implies) and also highly water resistant. Exterior uses Visvim’s high quality long staple given an aged effect, while the interior is fully lined in a shaggy polyester fleece. The collar uses sheep skin fur for a luxe touch and even more insulation. Newer iterations of the deckhand actually do not use windstopper which is pretty unfortunate.
Details include some really cool and reasonably large vegetable ivory buttons, hidden storm cuffs, leather zip pull, riri zipper, and throat latch allowing the collar to be worn both up and down. Pockets are also lined in in the same furry fleece, making for a very comfortable pocket experience that is also nicely insulating.
As you might expect from Visvim, this jacket did not come cheap at retail. Retail price outside of Japan was around $1500 if you could even find it. These pieces were also rare when initially released. They are now completely sold out and the design has not (and likely will not) be revisited. Get it here while you can.
Size is labeled a 2 and fits like a somewhat slim medium. I measure the chest at 20”, shoulders at 18”, length at 28” from the base of the neck, and sleeves at 25” from the shoulder. The jacket comes in lightly used, good shape. There is a bit of wear throughout, along with some discoloration of the interior button placket. However, this is completely invisible most of the time and only apparent on close inspection. Otherwise no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.
Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $36.
